Season Structure

Practices will consist of skill development and structured gameplay. While some coaches may stay with one team, expect multiple coaches to be part of your player’s practice sessions as well as on the sideline during tournaments.

Practices will be held twice a week at a venue in Windsor or surrounding town. Multiple teams may practice together depending on age, skill, and facility availability. Practice times may also change from week to week, depending on coach and facility availability. We do, however make every effort to have a consistent practice schedule.

We ask that players are committed to CBC and make CBC a priority over other AAU programs, given the short time period of play. Spring sports for schools, however, should be a priority over CBC. Players are expected to make all practices and tournaments outside of school commitments and extenuating circumstances.

Playing time is not guaranteed. While CBC focuses on player development, coaches will make decisions on playing time based on effort, skill, situations, and matchups.

Communication

CBC uses several methods to communicate to parents and players over the course of the season

  • Email - when providing contact information, please provide at least one reliable email that is checked regularly. We will use email to communicate updates, practice schedules, and any other program-wide information.

  • Sportsengine - all of our registrations are captured through Sportsengine. Players and parents can download a mobile app that also allows us to communicate with players and parents. More information will be provided as the season begins.

  • Text groups - each team may also have a text group with players and coaches in order to communicate any time-sensitive information or team-specific information

Fees

CBC registration fee for the 2024 season is $240 per player. Discounts are available for multiple players within the same family. This fee covers program facility costs, administrative costs, tournament fees, supplies, and coach and board stipends.

Players will also need to purchase a uniform that they will keep. Each player should purchase a jersey and a pair of shorts. This will typically run around $75-$80 total.

Player Requirements & Terms of Acceptance

Practice Policy, Playing Time, & Commitment

CBC understands and values the role that multi-sport athletes play in our communities. We also value commitment and expect that all of our players make every effort to fully commit to all practices and tournaments.

  • HS Spring Sports – In line with VPA policy, all school affiliated sports practices and games are given priority over CBC practices and games. All players should communicate in advance as soon as possible should they need to miss a practice or tournament due to HS Spring Sports commitments.

  • Practices are considered mandatory – with typically only two practices a week, players should be able to attend all practices. Lack of practice attendance will affect playing time, and/or club membership

  • If injured at all during the season, players should still attend practice even if just to observe.

  • Priority – By agreeing to play for CBC, you are identifying CBC as your priority AAU program/club sport during the season time period as laid out by CBC. Practices and tournaments are not to be missed to play with other AAU style programs or club sports. Any discovery of players not making CBC their first priority will result in removal from the program without refunding the registration fee.

Our philosophy within CBC is one of development. We believe that energy, effort, and communication is as much a part of development as passing, dribbling, and shooting. But there are many variables that affect playing time. While CBC makes every effort for each player to get game time reps, not all playing time is equal. Paying the registration fee does not guarantee playing time.

By accepting CBC’s roster invitation, you agree that you understand our philosophies and requirements and will abide by them in the 2024 season. You also understand that violating these philosophies and policies may result in forfeiture of a roster spot and/or registration fees.

We are looking forward to another successful year of providing premium basketball instruction throughout Eastern Vermont.
